Buy New Ones!!!!
That's a great idea but with 2 problems. 1) We are not made of money and 2) if your losing weight on a constant basis, then you don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes that won't fit in a month.
It's a good problem at first. You know, the clothes start to fit loose and then in a week or two they just don't fit and you're in new sizes. You go out, all excited and buy new clothes because you feel so good, only to run into the same situation.
Let me tell you, after loosing over 70 lbs. it gets old after awhile. Especially if you're like me and you like to plan your outfits the night before. I wake up in the morning and put on my pants. Too Big... It throws a curve ball in my morning routine.
But through my months of sweet frustration, I have found a solution. Please allow me to introduce your new best friend. Plato's Closet. You may have heard of this wondrous store before, but I had not until recently.
View it as a gently used, some new second hand clothing store. They have clothes for both men and women, but they are dependent on people bringing clothes in for them to purchase and apparently, more women do this over men.
I recently visited our Plato's Closet in Metairie and spent 2 hours going rack to rack. I was like a kid in a candy store!
I walked out with 8 shirts, 3 pairs of jeans, a necklace and a bracelet for $80.00!!! Man, oh man was I excited. But wait! It gets better.
As I said, this fabulous store also buys clothes from you too! The clothes have to be gently used and purchase within the last 6months to a year (though I don't know how they can tell if you bought within the last year). So as you're cleaning out your closet (because you don't want to keep your fat clothes. Set a goal to never be that big again! Though burning your fat clothes is not a bad idea either :), you can bring them to Plato's Closet and sell what they will take! Score!!!
The rest of the fat clothes can go to the local Goodwill or Salvation Army.
