So, I've Been a LIttle Busy...

I can't believe it's been over a month since I last checked in, but can I just say that I am sssooooo glad that this month is over. And I am ready for the holidays!!

On another note, I participated in my first Triathlon in September. And to be honest, I was not a fan. I'm a runner, not a swimmer. But you live and you learn. And now I can proudly say that I did one.

The Girl Power Tri was a 300 meter swim, 10 mile bike ride and a 2 mile run. It's doesn't sound like a lot but it officially kicked my behind!

Here are a few highlights:

Out of the pool and running to the transition area.

It took me almost 30 minutes to get in the pool, so my finish time was 1 Hour 8 minutes.

This is my, It's finally over! Happy Face!!

I think I'll stick with running. Which leads me to my next exciting race: The Jazz Half Marathon which I get to run in next Saturday. 13.1 miles! When I started my weight loss journey at the beginning of this year, I set the Jazz Half as my final goal. I never imagined I would be where I am today.

Continuing on in other news... I have now begun to teach Nutritional Classes. These classes are every other Monday night and each class covers a different topic. Not that I don't have enough to do already! But I want to educate people on what it means to have good nutrition and why health is important.

If you would like more information about these classes, check out our Facebook page.

At the end of last month, some of our closest friends moved to Tampa Bay. Eman and Shay have been apart of our lives for the past 6 years and I miss them terribly! But that is not why I am writing about them. Shay has been one of my very dearest friends. She and I have even been compared to sisters, dubbing ourselves, the Doublemint Twins. Since we married our wonderful men, 6 months apart, we both had put on extra weight. In January, as I began to lose the weight, Shay asked if I could help her. So I taught her the tools and principles taught to me and she also began to lose the weight. To this day, Shay has lost a total of 48 lbs. since April.

Shay texted me this first picture a few months ago and we reminded ourselves that we would never be at that place again. I showed my wonderful husband the picture, as I laughed hysterically. He EXACT remark was, "You two aren't the Double Mint Twins! You look like the BUBBLE mint twins!" Needless to say, he doesn't win the husband of the year award, but it was soooo funny!

Why do I tell you all this? Because anyone can lose the weight and get healthy! Before she moved we had a little photo shoot in my studio. We wanted to compare a picture to an old picture we took in March of this year, on Shay's birthday. And let me tell you, in this first picture, we thought we were hot stuff. :) You be the judge.
